582 America Reads Program Spring 2019 Work Hours 20 hrs per week Duties America Reads Tutors at Mitchell Elementary School GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To support student learning at Mitchell Elementary School through providing support with reading in coordination with the Reading Interventionist. Tutors must have a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety in order to serve in this position. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions) Support Reading Interventionist by working with students in small groups (3-5 students) or one-on-one to improve reading skills. Support classroom teachers by working with students in small groups or one-on-one in Kindergarten-5th Grade. Establish and maintain positive student behaviors when working with students, in coordination with Reading Interventionist and classroom teachers. OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES: Preference is given to students who are majoring in an education-related field or who have experience working with youth or in schools. It is vital that America Reads Tutors maintain a professional demeanor at all times when on campus. This includes dressing in a professional manner, using professional language, and modeling appropriate professional behavior for all students. Availability for working with students varies from day-to-day but includes the normal school hours (7:45am-3: 05 pm, except Thursdays when students dismiss at 12:55 pm) as well as after-school programs that typically run from 3:05pm-4: 30 pm. 671 IT Help Desk Spring 2019 There is no prior experience required. The candidate will be trained to verify that all of the audio visual and computer equipment in our classrooms are functioning properly.
